CAMBODIAN SILK HISTORY
A long and old history of Cambodian Golden Silk.
Because of a long civil war Cambodian silk nearly extinction, local and overseas craftsman
is trying to revival golden silk now day.
According to the story in 6 century Cambodian Silk was started at TAKEO province then spread to the whole Cambodia.
In the past women after finished their agriculture jobs, they were working with silk to earn money to support the family.
The beautiful Golden Silk.
All works with handmade, mulberry cultivation,silkworm breeding,hands-weaving, to completed the process.
It take a long time with love to complete the products.
Mulberry tree is grow up fast, plant seedling it about 6 months we can pick mulberry leaves for breeding silkworm.
Mulberry tree can live 10 years ~ 20 years, for easy to pick the leave we have to prune mulberry tree one time in 2 years.
Silkworm is very delicate so we have to be carefully to look after their health.
Observing silkworm if some of them get silk, before spread disease to the whole silkworm we take that one a way.
Take care them like a baby, health-check and give feed.
Starting feed silkworm in 45 days then we get [Golden Cocoon].
Cocoon have to clean by hot water so we can get soft silk yarn.
1 cocoon can get about 300 m ~ 350 m silk thread.
After getting silk thread we have to extend it and take up for weaving.
Dye what color we want then use hands-weaving to make silk fabrics.
After making silk fabrics, using (Screen printing), or use that fabrics to make bags and clothes.
It depending on the design.
Craftsman makes a pattern then be carefully of sewing to complete products。
It took a long time work with handmade to complete each bags, stole, clothes with love and happiness to supply you.

Everyone.
My name is Sota Mochizuki owner・designer of Sota Cambodia Silk luxury brand bags and clothes.
I would like to spread how beautiful of Cambodian silk to the world.
Using Cambodian traditional high technique hands-weaving to produce modern products to supply modern living.
I came to Japan in 2007.
At that time I were Cambodian, now I am Japanese.
I am proud to be Japanese living in Japan.
I worked at Japanese company for a long time, I want to grow up my self so I decided to run this business.
Sota Cambodia Silk specialty shop open in 2016.1.11.
I had learn a lot of skill how to make perfect product from Japanese company.
All that experiences I teach and train Cambodian craftsman to make the perfect products, to supply and make clients happy and enjoy of luxury lifestyle.
I try my best to build this luxury brand to spread in the whole Japanese market then next to the whole world.
I work with department store, clients enjoy of shopping with Sota Cambodia Silk products.
In the future I try my best to bring this brand to show the world how beautiful and elegance Cambodian silk (Cambodian Art).
